WHY BEAGLEWORKS?
What's in a name?Beagle refers to the beagle Snoopy from the Peanuts cartoons. Snoopy imagines himself as the World Famous Author, the World Famous Attorney, the World Famous Surgeon, Tennis Player, Quarterback and World War One Flying Ace. Growing up in a family that loved the Peanuts cartoons, Snoopy became shorthand for the dreamer, dreaming big crazy dreams. Works refers to the idea of a skunkworks project, developed by a small group focussed on radical innovation, based on Lockheed Martin's Advanced Development Projects, the original Skunk Works. And so Beagleworks is the dream of creating a small, fast moving, innovative research house in the financial markets.
